can i hook up a subwoofer to my sony cd player or my laptop?

it is a sony ESP2. its just a basic cd player pretty much but has a really impressive sound for what it is. it has bass booster which works pretty good but i wanna hook up a woofer to it. someone i know has one shes not using anymore and she said i could have it. i just need to know if i can hook it up and how i would do that. and also i just got a new laptop and ive been listening to my itunes on it because i dont have an ipod dock to play my stuff out loud. it has pretty good sound for a laptop, but hey, its a laptop. i wanna get some good quality speakers and am wondering if i could possibly hook the woofer up to that too. ive seen them hooked up to desktop computers before so im thinking it should work but, again, i dont know how. thanks

In order to plug it to your CD Player, it has to have a Sub input, for example I have had a few Altec docks and one of them had a Sub input where I plugged a Bass Amplifier, but it was so loud that I had to store it and instead I plug it to my laptop’s Klipsh surround system through the auxiliary input.
